Everyone is Staring at ChatGPT. But Claude is Actually Built for Business

If you’re running a business and just trying to keep your head above water, hype doesn’t pay the bills.

You don’t need a parlor trick. You need something that actually does the heavy lifting.

And, from my experience and testing to date (April 20, 2026), I can tell you flat out: Claude completely wrecks ChatGPT when it comes to actual, roll-up-your-sleeves work.

Let’s look at the reality of running a small to mid-sized company.

As a business owner, the biggest hurdle you face isn’t a lack of information. You are likely suffocating under a mountain of it. Endless emails, financial reports, raw sales data, and transcripts. Every week, a new pile lands on your desk.

But data is just noise. What you actually need is insight. What decisions should you make? Where are the cracks in your strategy?

I recently audited a company and we had transcripts from 300+ customer interviews. That is a massive wall of text. I needed to extract the real insights from it, so I fed the whole mess into both ChatGPT and Claude.

ChatGPT choked. It couldn’t track the volume or handle the back-and-forth iteration. Claude, with its massive memory capacity, chewed through the entire pile and handed me actual, usable decisions.

Then there’s the feedback problem.

I spent an entire month putting the exact same prompts into ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. Every single time, side by side.

Here is what I learned: ChatGPT is a corporate people-pleaser. It agrees with every dumb idea you feed it, spits out a list of generic bullet points, and never challenges your assumptions. It’s like talking to a yes-man who just wants to keep his job.

Claude actually has a spine. If there is a massive blind spot in your logic, it points it out. It tells you, “Sure, you could do that, but here are three ways it blows up in your face.” As a founder, you don’t need a cheerleader. You need someone to check your blind spots so you don’t crash the company. The difference was so jarring that I canceled my ChatGPT subscription by the end of the month.

But here is the real shift. We are past the point of just having cute chats with bots. We need output. We need things built.

Claude gets this. It has a feature that actively executes tasks instead of just talking about them. If you need a client deck you pitched a year ago, you don’t have to go digging through folders—tell Claude to fetch it, and it opens the file for you. It bridges the gap between talking and doing.

Better yet, look at Claude Code. As an agency owner, I watch cash bleed out every month on twenty different SaaS subscriptions to handle repetitive tasks. The old mindset was, “Is there an app I can buy to fix this?”

The new mindset is, “Can I just build this app?”

Most of the time, the answer is yes. You take a tool you are currently overpaying for, audit its functionality, hand those specs to Claude Code, and tell it to build a clone. I’ve done it. It works. You don’t need to be a software engineer anymore; you just need to know what you want.

Even if you just look at basic writing, Claude takes the crown. When I throw a messy, complicated drafting task at them, Claude delivers something with actual rhythm and depth. Gemini takes silver. ChatGPT finishes dead last.

If you are serious about building something that lasts, stop using the default tool just because it was the first one you signed up for.

Open two tabs tomorrow. Feed them both the exact same ugly, complicated problem you’re dealing with. The difference will hit you like a freight train.
